My Full History with Lacrosse

From East Syracuse, N.Y., started playing organized lacrosse in 1965, attended East Syracuse Minoa High School 1972 - 1975. Played lacrosse & football along with stints of wrestling, basketball & golf. Played college ball at Kutztown University 1975 - 1978, 2 NCAA tournament appearances, #1 scoring team nationally. Was invited to tryout for the 1980 US Box Lacrosse National Team to compete in the world games. Made the team, skipped the games due to prior business commitments. 1981 - 1997 played on various club teams (some sponsored some not) and tournaments.

 

Coached Atlanta Youth Lacrosse from 1997 - 2002, AYL coach of the year 1998. Co-founded Bagataway Lacrosse in 2002, co-founded the first Georgia owned lacrosse camp, SuperSouth Lacrosse Camp in 2002 (503 campers in 2006 alone). Co-founded Georgia Lacrosse Association to establish guidelines for growth and future interleague play for boys & girls in 2002. Co-founded first annual Georgia lacrosse coaches educational clinic in 2002. Established the first Georgia fall league (1600 players per year by 2006) in 2002. Established the first Georgia box lacrosse league in winter of 2002 and first Georgia summer league in 2003. Co-founded Forsyth Youth Lacrosse in 2003, founded Gwinnett County youth lacrosse in 2003. Co-founded & coached Mt. Pisgah/Riverwood HS club team in 2003. Assistant coach for the original Gwinnett Blackhawks (founded by Phil Tucker & Brian Miller in 2002) 2004. Nominated as National Youth Coach of the Year by US Lacrosse in 2004. 2005 - 2008 four straight Georgia high school championships (3 with the Gwinnett Blackhawks & one with Collins Hill). Co founded Team Georgia in 2005 (first club team in the state) to showcase southern talent at college recruiting events. The Georgia General Assembly recognized Team Georgia in 2007. As of 2011 (stopped counting) had more than 400 players continue their careers into college. Established Peachtree Ridge HS Club team as part of Bagataway Lacrosse in 2007, established Collins Hill lacrosse in 2008 and then North Gwinnett boys & girls in 2009. Established first Team Development Camp at Jeykll Island along with Jim Berkman of Salisbury (#1 winningest coach of all time) in 2005. Provided free youth clinics to programs all over the state from Rome & Gainesville on the north to Newnan, Peachtree City & Henry County to the south & Birmingham to the west to establish or assist growth of the game. 2011 - 2021 coached at South Forsyth, Collins Hill & Parkview high schools along with youth teams from U7 - U15 at St. Pius, South Forsyth & West Forsyth also founded the Flowery Branch HS club team in 2011. Awarded Gwinnett County HS Coach of the year in 2019 & 2021.

 

Tournaments/Championships; 1st place Southeast Championships HS Boys Elite Division Team Georgia 2005, 1st place NGLL Championship Tournament with Gwinnett Blackhawks 2006, 1st place "Creators Cup" Southeast Championships U13 division 2006, 1st place middle school boys division southeast Championships 2006, Sportsmanship Award Team Georgia 2006, 1st place at the inaugural Golden Goal Tournament of Champions with Junior Team Georgia 2007 in upstate NY, 1st place at Battle by the Beach varsity division Team Georgia 2008, 1st place Southeast Championships HS boys elite division Team Georgia 2008, 1st place NGLL Tournament champions Blackhawks 2008, Bronze Medal Gait National Championship HS boys elite division 2009 Team Georgia, Senior Select state runner up South Forsyth 2015, Senior Select state runner up West Forsyth 2019.
